We have just launched Reading Companion in our school to support students in developing reading fluency. Each participating student has a username and password which they can use in school and at home. Once logged in, the student can choose a book from their virtual book shelf. The program then reads the page once. Next, it reads a complete sentence and finally asks the student to read the hightlighted words. The software ‘hears’ the response and gives encouragement and praise where appropriate. You can see some of these features in this clip. More information at www.readingcompanion.org
